1. Using Your Current Frame Size

If you already use a well-fitted pair, try to look at the insides of the temples to find out the measurements. It would look like a set of numbers which denote lens width, bridge width & temple length respectively. e.g. 52-15-165

2. Using A Ruler

In case you cannot find out the measurements, or your frames are older than a year, and you doubt your size has changed, then follow the next step.

So let's have a look at the next simplest way. For this, you will need:

(a)A Millimeter Ruler / Cloth Measuring Tape

(b)Pen/Pencil to mark the readings

Take hints from the ranges below to avoid any mistakes.

Lens Width/Diameter – The horizontal width of each lens in millimeters. It ranges between 40-62mm.

Bridge Width – The distance between the two lenses in millimeters. It ranges between 14-24mm.

Temple Length – The length from screw to temple tips. It ranges between 110-150mm.

Did you know that a simple clothing guide can help you find your perfect fitting frame & sunglass? Generally, your regular T-shirt can help you find your ideal frame size. Read on to know more.

  • People who wear Small (S) size:

It is likely your face structure would be small too. In general, frames or eyeglasses with less than or equal to 50mm of lens-width would fit you comfortably. For sunglasses the width of 55mm or less should be your choice.

  • People who wear Large (L) size:

Your eyeglass or frame size must be 55mm lens-width or more, and your sunglass size must be 65mm lens-width or more.

  • People who wear Medium (M) size:

You can go for eyeglasses between 51mm to 54mm of lens-width, and for sunglasses between 56mm to 64mm of lens-width.

4. Using Debit/Credit Card

Did you know you can find out your frame size with your debit/credit cards too?

Interestingly, the standard width of the card can be compared to a medium (M) sized frame. Let's see how.

Place one edge of the card at the center of your nose and if:

  • (a) The other end of the card ends at your eye's tip, you'll need a medium (M) sized frame.
  • (b) The card width extends the tip of the eye, you'll need a small (S) sized frame.
  • (c) If the edge of the card ends before your eye's tip, you'll need a large (L) sized frame.
